About
The Cairns Diocese encompasses 377,000 km2 from Cardwell in the south, west to the Northern Territory Border including the Atherton Tablelands, and north to the Torres Strait Islands and Gulf of Carpentaria. There are twenty four parishes in the Diocese of Cairns including the Gulf Mission and Cooktown, neither of which has a resident priest. In addition the Cape York Peninsula area is serviced the Remote Area Mission. The administration office is situated in Bishop House 183 Abbott St, Cairns.
